WFH Series: 2020 is the Best Year of Innovation Yet.

I’m sitting here this weekend, watching virtual NASCAR.  First of all, please understand that we are not a NASCAR family, we are a sports family (football, basketball, lacrosse…doesn’t matter). However, it’s been weeks since live sports have been available on tv and so here we are.  My teenage boys are marveling at how cool the virtual NASCAR race is – you can see them race, much like you would watch a video game. They still wreck and have issues, so it’s pretty realistic to watch AND you’re getting the behind the scenes. You get to hear every word they say and let me tell you, their driving setup is pretty darn cool, it looks like the inside of their real car.  Typically, you can’t really see the drivers and their intense focus hidden inside their helmets, so that has also added a whole new element to the race too!

Office 365 Security- A Plan

The tyranny of search engine optimization forced me to give this article that boring title, but honestly I wanted to call it “Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers” . One of the big myths we have in the Information Technology world is that security is a mature and solved problem.  In reality we just want to get the baby buggy bumpers in place to keep us from hitting our heads on sharp corners, we have to keep watching for risks and adapting our plans as the landscape becomes clearer.

SharePoint 2010 End of Support - the End is Near!

October 13, 2020 SharePoint 2010 EXTENDED support will end. It was a good run, but it is time to put the workhorse out to pasture.

UPDATE! On April 4th 2020,  in response to the COVID-19 crisis and an increase in customer requests, Microsoft announced they will be providing Extended Support to SharePoint Server 2010 products and technologies until April 13, 2021 instead of the original cutoff date of October 13, 2020.
