WFH Series: Keeping Morale Up on Your (Newly) Remote Team

Anyone tired of work-from-home posts yet?  A lot of them talk about how to stay productive and focused, which is a great perspective for your employees. What about looking at things from a management point of view? My husband works for a really large organization with a hard core “we don’t work remote” policy and yet here we are, creating a second office and trying to hold video conference calls in different rooms at the same time thanks to COVID-19.

What’s different between him and I is that I do this all the time!  Mark and I manage a team that is spread out across the US – literally from Alaska to Long Island, from Canada to Florida and everywhere in between.  I travel a LOT and so I can set up shop just about anywhere and feel comfortable and productive. On the flip side, my husband’s team is within arm’s reach more often than not.  He looked at me across the dinner table last night and asked – How do you keep your team engaged ?

Three uses of Office 365 in Crisis Communication

In times of crisis it is important to not only create a clear message, but a solid foundation on how to deliver and communicate that message across an organization. As an organization scales what seems simple to communicate often can become complex. Remember the game of telephone (do kids these days still play that game?). You start out with one message and by the time the message go to the last person, it was NOT the original message. This is where technology comes in, such as the tools within Microsoft suite of productivity tools.

SharePoint 2010 End of Support - the End is Near!

October 13, 2020 SharePoint 2010 EXTENDED support will end. It was a good run, but it is time to put the workhorse out to pasture.

UPDATE! On April 4th 2020,  in response to the COVID-19 crisis and an increase in customer requests, Microsoft announced they will be providing Extended Support to SharePoint Server 2010 products and technologies until April 13, 2021 instead of the original cutoff date of October 13, 2020.
